By creating an account, accessing, or using Palaboo in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Palaboo. By using the service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

Palaboo is an AI-powered platform for language learning through flashcards and spaced repetition. Our service includes:

• AI-generated flashcard content using Google Gemini
• Intelligent spaced repetition scheduling (FSRS algorithm)
• Multi-device synchronization via cloud storage
• Progressive Web App (PWA) for mobile installation
• Flashcard library management and editing

Currently, Palaboo supports Spanish language learning, with additional languages planned for future release.

3. Account Registration and Security

To use Palaboo, you must sign in with a Google account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your Google account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Palaboo only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the service to create, store, or share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the platform
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without authorization
• Overload or interfere with the service's infrastructure
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Share your account access with others

5. User Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you create (input words, phrases, and any manual edits). By using Palaboo, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to:

• Store and process your content to provide the service
• Send your input to AI services (Google Gemini) for flashcard generation
• Synchronize your content across your devices

This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

5.2 AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content (definitions, cloze sentences, translations) is provided to you as part of the service. While you may use this content for your personal learning, we do not claim ownership of AI-generated content associated with your account.

5.3 Palaboo Platform

All rights, title, and interest in the Palaboo platform, including its design, code, algorithms, and branding, remain our exclusive property.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Palaboo uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to generate flashcard content. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain:

• Grammatical or linguistic errors
• Translations that lack cultural nuance
• Definitions that may not fit all contexts
• Inconsistencies in CEFR level appropriateness

You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content before relying on it for learning or other purposes. We encourage you to use multiple sources and cross-reference information, especially for critical or professional language use.

7. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide reliable, uninterrupted service but cannot guarantee:

• 100% uptime or availability
• Error-free operation
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers
• Permanent availability of any specific feature

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Palaboo at any time, with or without notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access for technical or security reasons.

8. Free Service and Future Pricing

Palaboo is currently free to use. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscriptions, or premium tiers in the future. If we do so, we will provide advance notice and the option to continue using any existing free features.

9. Third-Party Services

Palaboo integrates with third-party services (Google OAuth, Google Gemini AI). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

10.1 No Warranties

Palaboo is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content
• Language learning outcomes or proficiency gains

10.2 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Palaboo and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or content
• Loss of learning progress
• Service interruptions or errors
• Reliance on inaccurate AI-generated content
• Any other damages arising from your use of the service

Our total liability for any claim related to Palaboo is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0 for free users).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Palaboo, its creators, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
• Content you create or submit

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon termination, all your data will be permanently deleted.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we deem harmful to other users, the service, or third parties.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Palaboo after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Palaboo will be resolved through negotiation or, if necessary, in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
