• Review sessions and responses (Again, Hard, Good, Easy)
• Spaced repetition scheduling data (FSRS algorithm)
• Study statistics and progress metrics
• Last review dates and next review schedule

1.4 Technical Data

We automatically collect:

• Device type and browser information
• IP address (for security and analytics)
• Session data and cookies for authentication
• PWA installation status (if applicable)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the Service: Authenticate your account, store your flashcards, and sync across devices
• AI Content Generation: Send your input to Google Gemini AI to generate flashcard content in your target language
• Optimize Learning: Calculate optimal review schedules using the FSRS spaced repetition algorithm
• Improve the Platform: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience
• Communication: Send important service updates, security alerts, and technical notices
• Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI: To generate flashcard content based on your input
• Neon: For secure PostgreSQL database storage with serverless architecture
• Vercel: For hosting and content delivery

Your content may be processed by these services solely to provide Palaboo's functionality. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Data at rest is encrypted using Neon's enterprise-grade security
• Authentication tokens are securely hashed
• Regular security audits and updates
• Access controls and monitoring for unauthorized access

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Your flashcards and learning progress are stored indefinitely unless you delete them or close your account.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your data in your profile and library
• Edit: Modify or delete individual flashcards at any time
• Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
• Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings
• Opt-out: Revoke Google OAuth access through your Google account settings

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All flashcards, progress, and learning data will be permanently removed from our systems.

7. Children's Privacy

Palaboo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed in any country where we or our service providers maintain facilities. By using Palaboo, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your residence, which may have different data protection rules.
